The UK Consortium on AIDS and International
Development is a group of more than 80 UK based organisations which
work together to understand and develop effective approaches to
the problems created by the HIV epidemic in developing countries.
It enables each agency to bring its own experience to be shared
and used to help all the members improve their responses to the
epidemic, through: information exchange – networking –
advocacy – and campaigning.
The Consortium needed to manage information relating to their member
organisations across a wide range of areas including meetings, working
groups, projects, invoicing and email campaigns.
“We looked at many packages. Gold-Vision offered two big
advantages for us. First it is easily customisable, which is important
as most software packages of this type are aimed at for profit companies
with marketing and sales staff. As a non-profit we needed something
that could adapt to our needs. Second, the email integration was
a critical factor for us. Most of our interaction with members is
by email. We have a small staff, many of whom work only part time.
Having an easy way of tracking all email interaction by person or
organisation was a major factor in choosing Gold-Vision.
The results are that we now have simplified email campaigns
and newsletters plus better coordination of correspondence from
staff to members. Esteiro helped install the system, customise it
for us and provide training for our staff.”

The Consortium’s vision is to promote an effective global
response to HIV and AIDS that contributes to sustainable development.
It’s mission is to encourage, initiate and support collaborative
action by civil society to contribute to and influence the global
